Arrived Almaty, early Tuesday morning (without luggage -- more on that later). Bolat met me at the airport, helped me check in at the Hotel Alma-Ata, and then brought Arman to me! (Arman had been escorted to Almaty from Karaganda on the Air Astana flight that arrived late Monday night.)
Minutes later, we called Shanna (another single mom who was in Almaty finishing up the adoption of Libby, her second child adopted from Kazakhstan) and she, Tamar, and Libby came over to help us find a supermarket and learn our way around the neighborhood. She also provided a key piece of information: formula is mixed one scoop to one ounce of water (can't read those Russian instructions on the side of the can). We are so glad that they are in Almaty until Friday!
